How to Correct Solar Energy Myths…and Make Extra Income

There’s a lot of misinformation about solar, especially about its costs and reliability. For example, solar doesn’t need batteries, and you’ll always have power, whether at night or on cloudy days.

Even more pervasive is the myth that solar is too expensive. If you’ve purchased a solar system through REC Solar in California, Hawaii, Colorado, Oregon, Arizona, New Jersey and New York, you know from experience that that’s another big myth. There are numerous affordable ways to finance solar today, including solar leases that have no up-front costs and that are designed to save homeowners money on their electric bills from day one.

So what can we do about these solar energy myths? Our solution is to throw a party—and to help solar advocates like you to make some extra income.

Here’s the scoop:

You can host a solar party with REC Solar and make a minimum of $500 for anyone you refer that goes solar with REC Solar.

Invite your friends, neighbors, family, or colleagues. We’ll supply some light refreshments, but you can add to that with your own theme, like hosting a solar wine tasting, or a “Bring Your Own Sunny Music” party.  Make an RSVP for the party here.

To help bust some myths, REC Solar will also send over a local solar consultant who can educate your friends and neighbors about the real facts about going solar, answer FAQs, and even give some quick solar estimates.

For helping us educate future customers, REC Solar will pay $500 or more for each party guest that goes solar before December 31st, 2013. Not bad, eh?

Oh, and by the way:

  • You don’t have to own a solar system or be an REC Solar customer to receive the $500 REC Solar reward. If you love solar and can invite over some friends to learn about it, that’s all we care about.
  • You don’t have to host a party. Know someone who might be interested in going solar? Just refer your friend here. The same reward amounts above apply.
  • You’ll receive the referral fee(s) 45 days after the contract has been signed with the person(s) who go solar with REC Solar before the end of the year.
  • See complete terms and conditions on our REC Solar referral page.
